Money in Egypt – Sharm El Sheikh
The local currency is the Egyptian pound. It can be withdrawn here at ATMs, the exchange rate is indicated before withdrawal. The exchange rate varies in each bank, usually it is a couple of euros, but there are also lucky ones who manage to withdraw for free.
I recommend withdrawing local currency and dividing it into smaller amounts for “tips”
From my experience and the stories of other travelers, I can say that currency exchange in Latvia is very disadvantageous.
Euros, dollars are accepted here willingly, in most places. Usually the exchange rate is 1:1.
Exceptions are: coins, torn money and dollars older than 2000. Banks here change foreign currency to local, but not vice versa, and do not accept the above exceptions.
Choose the currency that seems most advantageous to you, but keep an eye on the exchange rate in stores
